The evening honored the visionary Curtis Byrdsong and highlighted the rising talent of our scholarship recipient, Sergio Chavira, as we celebrated how music continues to unify and inspire.

The MACB Student Participation Program (SPP) offers talented young musicians a unique opportunity to learn from accomplished professionals and gain valuable performance experience. Selected students who meet the program's criteria rehearse and perform alongside adult musicians, developing their skills and confidence.
Congratulations to Sergio Chavira, a senior trumpet player at Cross Keys High School in Brookhaven, Georgia. Sergio has successfully completed the program and will receive a MACB scholarship upon acceptance into an institution of higher learning. This year, during the 2025 MACB Spring Concert, he was proudly awarded the scholarship for his dedication and talent.
